Reviews and Ratings
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were pleasant and smelled fresh, but a bit musky and musty, so I had to air them out which gave me a bit of a headache. The service was great, but there seemed to be staff shortages for housekeeping. The location was good, with easy access to public transportation, but the building seemed run-down in some areas. The dining options provided basic fare with an abundance of carbs. Overall, my stay had its ups and downs.
My stay at the hotel was quite mixed. The rooms were at 85 degrees, which was a bit uncomfortable, but they did have a nice view. However, they are in need of a serious update. The service was a bit of a rollercoaster, as they initially lied to me within less than 15 minutes of my official arrival, but then the staff of the Super 8 Hotel in Ketchikan, Alaska, were amazing and efficient, helping not only me but about a couple dozen others who were stranded for the night. The location was very good, with access to a grocery store, bars, restaurants, and a bank nearby, and it was near the central part with access to public transportation. The dining experience was subpar, with limited options and watered-down powdered juice, although the availability of vegetarian and vegan dishes was a plus.
The hotel is centrally located near my parents' place and town, making it convenient for my stay. The rooms, although needing updates, were fair in comfort with a musky smell that required airing out, affecting my initial impression. The service was helpful and accommodating, but there was a concerning incident where I felt misled shortly after my arrival.
